Dr. Donald Ozumba
Dr. Ozumba is a board certified fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon specializing in sports medicine and joint replacement surgery. He provides both surgical and non-surgical orthopedic care for patients of all ages. He has particular interest in disorders and injuries affecting the shoulder, hip and knee. Dr. Ozumba treats all aspects of orthopedic pathology from sports-related injuries to arthritis of the shoulder, hip, and knee. He is skilled in minimally invasive arthroscopic surgery to facilitate quicker recovery for his patients. He offers cartilage restoration procedures for eligible patients and joint replacement surgery of the shoulder, hip and knee for patients with advanced arthritis.
Dr. Ozumba is committed to the compassionate care of his patients. He believes in clear communication and assisting the patient in making an informed decision for the most optimal treatment plan for the patient.
Dr. Ozumba attended medical school and completed his orthopedic surgery residency at UT Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas. After residency, he completed a prestigious fellowship at Duke University in Sports Medicine and Shoulder Reconstruction. As a fellow at Duke, he served as a team physician for Duke University, North Carolina Central University, and local area high schools. Dr. Ozumba earned a B.S. degree in Biology from Trinity University (San Antonio, TX) while earning NCAA All-Conference honors in basketball and track.
Dr. Ozumba has served as team physician for professional, collegiate, and high school sports teams. He recently served as the head team physician for the Dallas Deperados Arena Football Team. He is the current team physician for Rockwall Heath High School. He is an orthopedic consultant to the University of Dallas.
